Research

As an organization working in the field of infectious diseases with an onsite data, WAAF is exposed to lots of opportunities in terms of research. Affiliations with universities, other organizations both local and international make it possible for such opportunities to spring up.

WAAF also participates in sharing data with other researches which enables them to do both qualitative and quantitative research. Other researchers use the onsite clinic, some of WAAF’s target groups as research group and some examples are:
•      A  Cross-National Study of Stigma, Coping and Behavior, where a PhD student from the University of Texas interviewed MSM from WAAF and compared this to interviews of MSM in the US.
•    Title: Use of Isotopes to assess the impact of food supplements on nutritional status of   People Living with HIV/AIDS in Ghana (2008), Collaborators: WAAF/ IHCC /.Ghana Atomic Energy
