All will agree that this past year, 2020 has been one of the most difficult in modern times as the world started the battle against the COVID19 pandemic.
As a woman, I have always believed in the strength of women and the fight against the COVID19 pandemic has proven this. Assisted by our male colleagues, many women have led the fight as front line health workers, fighting this novel corona virus whist at the same time ensuring hard work over the years in other areas such as the fight against HIV, Tuberculosis, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Cervical Cancer and many more have not been ignored which showcases, that there is no limit to what we as women can accomplish.
Therefore, on this 2021 International Women’s Day, with the theme – Achieving an equal future in a COVID19 world, I want to commend all my female colleagues and to encourage them to carry on the fight for equality in all aspects, for women are strongest when we encourage each other and that we, more than others, understand that challenge is what brings about needed change. So therefore, carry on as proud empowered women!
