Improving Access to LGBT Rights ad Health Care in Selected Regions of Ghana

In 2014 WAAF joined a collaborative project between WAAF and the Human Rights Advocacy Center, (HRAC) with funding from the Royal Netherlands Embassy to make integration of human rights and accessibility to quality friendly LGBT specific health care taking into consideration the diverse needs of LGBT community in Ghana.

In 2016 the project entered its second phase, where WAAF introduced the use of Mobile Clinic to provide more comprehensive services, specifically for the cascade of HIV services to the doorstep of the LGBT community. WAAF continue to focus on health services as STI screening and treatment, HIV testing services, enrollment of HIV Positive clients into care as well as psychosocial support and preventive education. Either from WAAFs onsite clinic International Health Care Center, DICs with partner organizations, through community outreaches or per phone calls or social media, all with the aim of meeting LGBT community members where they are for appropriate, professional and confidential services.
