Farming
The WAAF farming idea was born out of WAAF’s long term involvement in income generating activities for marginalized and vulnerable persons including persons living with HIV.
Over the years, WAAF realized that to continue to assist the growing number of clientele/vulnerable groups, there would be a need to broaden and sustain its funding base for purposes of meeting its Strategic objective of assisting these vulnerable groups in becoming self sufficient
Crop farming, livestock farming and aqua farming were seen to be a strategic component for WAAF in its efforts to improve its funds base for purposes of mitigating social and economic difficulties of PLHIV’s and other vulnerable groups. This is more so, as farming is not only essential for growth, poverty
reduction and food security for impoverished communities but if managed effectively will be profitable enough to ensure long-term sustainability projects through reinvestment of profits back into the project.
