WAAF – IHCC participated in the 2017 Municipal Stakeholders Health Review Meeting

WAAF – IHCC participated in the 2017 Municipal Stakeholders Health Review Meeting organized by the Ga East Health Directorate on 5th April, 2018. The meeting took place at the Presbyterian Women’s Centre at Abokobi in the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.

Health facilities within the Municipality that presented an overview of their activities in 2017 included IHCC, Ashongman Community Clinic, Otobea Memorial Hospital, Dome Community Hospital and Sam J Specialist Hospital.

The 2017 report for IHCC was delivered by Yusuf Musah, Nurse and Data Officer at IHCC. Mr. Musah indicated in his report that in 2017, the number of clients who were tested for HIV at IHCC were 578 – 296 tested positive with 280 being enrolled unto ART- (these figures included referred cases outside the Municipality). On the PMTCT program, he stated that 52 women were registered as PMTCT clients in 2017. On TB, Mr. Musah said that IHCC recorded 11 registrations of which 1 was cured, 3 completed treatment , 1 failed and 6 were still on treatment.

On Malaria, Mr. Musah indicated that IHCC tested 499 patients out of which 44 tested positive in 2017. Details of the IHCC 2017 report is available at www.ihccghana.com or www.waafweb.org.
